- Despite living in Africa's warmth, African Penguins have densely packed feathers and a layer of fat to keep them warm in cold ocean waters.
- African Penguins are the only penguin species found in Africa. They communicate with a variety of vocalizations, including a braying sound that sounds like a donkey. Their pink glands above the eyes help regulate their body temperature in the hot African sun.
