Did you know?
- An African Wild Dog pack can coordinate to chase prey over distances of several kilometers, with success rates exceeding 80%βone of the highest among large carnivores.
- African wild dogs "vote" on whether to hunt by sneezing β the more sneezes, the more likely they go. Their hunts succeed far more often than a lion's, by exhausting prey rather than ambushing it. They feed the old, sick and injured by regurgitating meat rather than abandoning them. They have four toes on their front feet, not five, and cannot interbreed with dogs or wolves.
