- An African Wild Dog pack can coordinate to chase prey over distances of several kilometers, with success rates exceeding 80%—one of the highest among large carnivores.
- African Wild Dogs are known for their unique 'painted' coat patterns, which are distinct for every individual. They communicate with a wide range of vocalizations, including a twittering sound not found in other canids. Unlike most predators, the entire pack cares for injured, ill, or young members, sharing food and looking after each other's wellbeing.
