- Despite living in murky river waters, Amazon River Dolphins have excellent eyesight above and below the water surface.
- Amazon River Dolphins can turn their heads 90 degrees due to unfused neck vertebrae, unlike oceanic dolphins. Their pink coloration is believed to result from scar tissue, capillary placement, and sun exposure. Local legends often attribute magical or shape-shifting powers to these unique dolphins.
