- Despite their striking appearance, Andean Cock-of-the-rocks can be very difficult to spot in the wild due to their secretive behavior and preference for dense, shadowy forests.
- Male Andean Cock-of-the-rocks gather in leks to perform elaborate displays, including jumps, bowing, and wing flaps, to attract females. Their vivid plumage is a result of carotenoid pigments from their fruit-rich diet. They nest on rocky cliffs and overhangs, using mud and plant material to construct their nests.
