- Anderson's Salamander is found only in a single lake in the world, making it one of the most geographically restricted amphibians.
- Anderson's Salamander is one of the few salamander species that remain fully aquatic and neotenic throughout their lives. They possess remarkable regenerative abilities, being able to regrow limbs and even parts of their heart and eyes. Their external gills allow them to thrive in well-oxygenated, cool waters.
