- Despite their name, Antelope Jackrabbits are not closely related to antelopes; their name comes from the white flanks that resemble those of pronghorn antelopes.
- Antelope Jackrabbits have extremely large ears that help them dissipate heat in their hot desert habitat. They are among the largest hares in North America and are capable of running up to 72 km/h (45 mph) to escape predators.
