- A single Argentine ant supercolony in Southern Europe stretches over 6,000 kilometers along the Mediterranean coast.
- Argentine ants form some of the largest cooperative colonies in the world, spanning entire regions. They use chemical trails to coordinate foraging and can rapidly exploit food sources. This species has displaced native ants in many places, altering local ecosystems.
