- Argus Monitors can inflate their bodies with air to appear larger and deter predators or rivals.
- Argus Monitors are named after the many eye-like spots on their bodies, reminiscent of Argus Panoptes from Greek mythology. They can stand upright on their hind legs to survey their surroundings, a behavior known as 'tripoding.' Their long claws and strong limbs make them excellent diggers, capable of excavating deep burrows.
