- This species is found only on Aruba and nowhere else in the world.
- The Aruba Island Rattlesnake is one of the rarest rattlesnakes in the world, with fewer than 250 adults remaining in the wild. It has a notably small rattle, which makes its warning sound much softer than that of mainland rattlesnakes. Unlike many rattlesnakes, it gives birth to live young rather than laying eggs.
