- Some Atlantic Tarpon have been recorded living for over 50 years in the wild, making them one of the longest-lived fish species.
- Atlantic Tarpon can gulp air directly from the surface, allowing them to survive in low-oxygen environments. They are known for their acrobatic jumps, especially when hooked, making them a favorite among anglers. Despite their size, tarpon are rarely targeted for food due to their bony flesh.
