- Australian Water Dragons can stay underwater for up to 90 minutes at a time, using this ability to avoid predators or extreme temperatures.
- Australian Water Dragons can run on their hind legs, especially when startled, and are capable of diving into water to escape threats. Juveniles and adults can often be seen basking communally, and their tails make up nearly two-thirds of their total body length.
