- Bamboo Shrimp larvae require brackish or marine conditions to develop, which makes breeding them in captivity extremely challenging.
- Bamboo Shrimp have feathery fan-like appendages called chelipeds that they use to catch tiny food particles from the water. Unlike many shrimp, they rarely scavenge on the substrate, relying instead on water currents for their meals. They are also known for their ability to change color slightly to blend with their surroundings.
