- Despite their name, Barking Tree Frogs often spend more time burrowed underground than in trees, especially during dry periods.
- Barking Tree Frogs can rapidly change their skin color to blend into their environment, ranging from bright green to dark brown. Their vocalizations are so loud they can be heard from over 100 meters away. During hot, dry weather, these frogs often burrow into sandy soil to avoid dehydration.
