- Bharals play a critical ecological role as the primary prey of the endangered snow leopard, helping maintain balance in the Himalayan ecosystem.
- Bharals are known to leap up to 6 meters in a single bound to escape predators. Their bluish coat provides excellent camouflage against the Himalayan rocks. Despite being called 'blue sheep,' they are more closely related to goats than true sheep.
