Did you know?
- Binturongs play an important ecological role by dispersing the seeds of strangler fig trees, which depend almost entirely on them for propagation.
- Binturongs are one of the few mammals with a prehensile tail, which can support their full body weight. Their scent glands produce a smell similar to buttered popcorn. Despite their size and appearance, they are excellent climbers and rarely come down to the ground.
