- Despite their small size and delicate appearance, blue dragons can deliver a painful sting to humans if handled.
- Blue dragons wash ashore in swarms alongside the man o' war they follow, and they can sting after death, so beached ones should not be picked up. Because it is a slug living at the air-water interface, it belongs to the neuston β the thin community of animals that live in the top few centimetres of the entire open ocean. It cannot swim in any meaningful sense: it goes where the wind and current take its prey.
