- Blue Gouramis can breathe air directly from the surface, allowing them to survive in oxygen-poor waters where many other fish cannot.
- Blue Gouramis can change their coloration slightly depending on mood or environment, and males become more vibrant during breeding. They are bubble nest builders, with males constructing floating nests for their eggs using bubbles and plant material.
