- Blue Jays are responsible for helping spread oak trees, as they often bury acorns which later grow into new trees.
- Blue Jays can imitate the calls of hawks to deceive other birds. They are known to use tools and have complex communication skills. In addition to eating seeds and nuts, Blue Jays sometimes raid the nests of other birds for eggs or nestlings.
