- Unlike most lizards, the Borneo Angle-headed Lizard does not drop its tail (autotomy) as a primary defense mechanism.
- The Borneo Angle-headed Lizard can remain almost motionless for long periods, making it difficult to spot in the wild. Males have a prominent nuchal crest and can be highly territorial. Despite their cryptic appearance, they may display vivid colors when threatened or during social interactions.
