- Unlike most frogs, Budgett's Frog can inflate its body and bite fiercely to deter predators.
- Budgett's Frogs are sometimes called 'Freddy Krueger frogs' because of their aggressive behavior and appearance. Their tadpoles are carnivorous and will even consume each other if food is scarce. They produce a loud, distinctive scream when threatened.
