- Camel spiders can consume prey nearly their own size thanks to their powerful jaws and digestive enzymes.
- Camel spiders can run at speeds up to 16 km/h (10 mph), making them one of the fastest arthropods. Their name comes from myths and legends rather than any association with camels. They do not possess venom, but their large jaws can inflict a painful bite.
