- A single female cane toad can lay up to 30,000 eggs in one breeding season.
- Cane toads were introduced to Australia in 1935 to control sugarcane pests, but instead became a notorious invasive species. Their toxic secretions can kill many would-be predators, including domestic pets. Cane toads are known for their remarkable ability to survive in a wide variety of environmental conditions.
