- Caracals were once trained by ancient Egyptians and Indians for bird hunting due to their remarkable agility.
- Caracals can leap over 3 meters into the air to snatch birds mid-flight. Their ear tufts are thought to play a role in communication or camouflage. Unlike many other cats, caracals do not roar but can purr, meow, hiss, and growl.
