- Cherry Barbs can sometimes change color based on their mood or environmental conditions, with stress causing their coloration to fade.
- Male Cherry Barbs become a vivid cherry-red during the breeding season, while females remain a more subdued color. These fish are schooling species and feel most secure when kept in groups of six or more. In the wild, they are found in shaded, slow-moving waters with plenty of leaf litter and aquatic plants.
