- If threatened, Chinese Water Dragons can drop from branches into water and swim away to escape danger.
- Chinese Water Dragons can remain submerged underwater for up to 25 minutes to escape predators. Their tails make up nearly two-thirds of their total body length and are used for balance and swimming. These lizards sometimes communicate through head-bobbing and waving gestures.
