Did you know?
- Despite their gigantic size, colossal squids are believed to be relatively short-lived, possibly surviving only a couple of years.
- Colossal squids have the largest eyes of any known animal, measuring up to 30 centimeters (12 inches) in diameter. Their tentacles are equipped with rotating hooks, a feature unique among squid species. Very few complete specimens have ever been studied due to the extreme depths at which they live.
