- Colugos are the closest living relatives to primates, despite their unusual appearance and gliding lifestyle.
- Colugos can glide for over 70 meters between trees with minimal loss of height. Their patagium, or gliding membrane, is the most extensive of any mammal. Colugos are sometimes called flying lemurs, though they are not related to true lemurs.
