- Unlike many primates, common marmosets rely heavily on tree sap and gum, which they extract by gnawing holes in bark with specialized lower incisors.
- Common marmosets have claws instead of flat nails on most fingers, enabling them to cling to tree bark. They can leap up to 5 meters (16 feet) between branches, and their twin births are among the highest rates in primates.
