- Ravens can imitate human speech and a wide range of other sounds, much like parrots.
- A raven will save a tool it cannot use yet, holding it for up to a day, and will refuse a smaller immediate reward in order to keep it. It re-hides food if it thinks it was watched, and will fake a hiding place to mislead onlookers. It recognises individual human faces and remembers who cheated it. It slides down snowbanks and tumbles in the air, apparently purely to play.
