- The Common Tusked Frog is one of the few frog species in Australia where males possess prominent, tooth-like tusks used for combat.
- Male Common Tusked Frogs use their tusks to fight rivals during the breeding season. Unlike many frogs, their eggs are laid in foam nests attached to submerged vegetation. Their unique croak is often heard at night near water during rainy periods.
