- The Pembroke Welsh Corgi's name comes from its place of origin and the Welsh words 'cor' (dwarf) and 'gi' (dog), literally meaning 'dwarf dog.'
- Pembroke Welsh Corgis are famous for their association with Queen Elizabeth II, who has owned more than 30 Corgis in her lifetime. Despite their small stature, they were bred as herding dogs and can be surprisingly agile and quick. Their tails are typically much shorter than those of the closely related Cardigan Welsh Corgi.
