- The Crested Coua is endemic to Madagascar and cannot be found anywhere else in the world.
- Crested Couas build flat, flimsy nests in tree branches, and both parents share incubation duties. Their chicks are born with distinctive blue and white spots inside their mouths to help parents feed them accurately. Unlike most cuckoos, crested couas do not practice brood parasitism.
