- Cuvier's Beaked Whale holds the record for the deepest and longest dive of any mammal, reaching depths over 2,990 meters and staying submerged for more than 3 hours. Their bodies are often covered in scars caused by interactions with other whales and cookiecutter sharks. These whales are also known for their elusive surface behavior, making them one of the least observed large whale species.
