Did you know?
- Dholes lack a third lower molar, a unique dental feature that distinguishes them from other wild dogs and wolves.
- Dholes have no true howl; their repertoire is whistles, clucks, screams and a strange chattering that carries through undergrowth where a howl would echo uselessly. Pups are fed by the whole pack, and non-breeding adults will bring food back for weeks, which is closer to African wild dog society than to wolf society.
