Despite their tough appearance, Dogo Argentinos can be very gentle and affectionate with their families, often seeking close contact and companionship.
The Dogo Argentino was developed by Dr. Antonio Nores Martínez in the 1920s by crossing several breeds for strength, stamina, and hunting prowess. Its all-white coat was a deliberate choice to help hunters distinguish the dogs from prey during hunts. The breed is banned or restricted in several countries due to its powerful build and perceived aggression.
