- Despite their nickname 'flying dragon,' Draco lizards do not truly fly but glide using their extended rib membranes.
- Draco lizards can glide over distances of up to 10 meters between trees. They almost never descend to the ground, living most of their lives in the forest canopy. Their wing-like structures are actually extended ribs, a rare adaptation among reptiles.
