- The Eastern Glass Lizard can regenerate its tail after shedding it, but the new tail is usually shorter and differently colored than the original.
- Despite their snake-like appearance, Eastern Glass Lizards are completely harmless and lack venom. Their tails can account for more than half of their total body length and are easily shed when threatened. Unlike snakes, they cannot unhinge their jaws.
