- The Emerald Tree Boa has almost identical coloration and habits to the Green Tree Python of Australia, despite not being closely relatedβa classic example of convergent evolution.
- The Emerald Tree Boa has heat-sensing pits along its jaws to detect warm-blooded prey in the dark. Its young are born a bright orange or red before turning green as they mature. Unlike many snakes, it gives birth to live young rather than laying eggs.
