- Emus have a specialized tracheal pouch that allows them to produce deep booming and drumming sounds that can be heard up to 2 kilometers away.
- Emus are flightless but are excellent runners, using their powerful legs to escape predators. They have a unique double-plumed feather structure that helps insulate them from extreme temperatures. Male emus are solely responsible for incubating the eggs and caring for the chicks after hatching.
