- There are fewer than 500 Ethiopian Wolves left in the wild, making them one of the rarest canids on Earth.
- Ethiopian Wolves are the only wolf species found in Africa and have a highly specialized diet consisting mostly of rodents. Unlike other canids, they rarely form large hunting parties and are excellent solitary hunters.
