- Unlike many other iguanas, the Fiji Banded Iguana is one of the few members of its genus found outside the Americas, isolated in the South Pacific.
- Fiji Banded Iguanas can rotate their eyes independently to scan for predators or food. Males display their vivid banded coloration during social interactions and territorial disputes. These iguanas are powerful swimmers and sometimes cross water to reach new islands.
