- Despite their abundance and adaptability, Galahs can form hybrid offspring with other cockatoo species in the wild, such as the Major Mitchell's Cockatoo.
- Galahs are famous for their acrobatic flight and playful nature, often hanging upside down from branches. Their name is derived from an Aboriginal word, and in Australian slang, 'galah' refers to a silly or foolish person, inspired by the bird's antics.
