Despite their bulk, gaurs are capable of running at surprising speeds and jumping tall obstacles when threatened.
The gaur is also known as the 'Indian bison', though it is not a true bison. It is the largest species of wild cattle in the world and can leap over 2 meters high. Gaurs have a unique ridge on their back, which is due to their prominent dorsal ridge and muscular shoulders.
