- Unlike most other antelopes, gerenuks can go their entire lives without directly drinking water.
- Gerenuks rarely need to drink water, getting most of their moisture from the plants they eat. Males have distinctive lyre-shaped horns, while females are hornless. Their unique ability to stand on their hind legs allows them to feed at heights of up to 2 meters.
