- Giant Honeybees are the primary source of wild honey in many Asian cultures, and honey hunting from their massive combs is a dangerous traditional practice.
- Giant Honeybees are famous for their 'shimmering' behavior, where thousands of bees flip their abdomens in a coordinated wave to scare off predators. Their nests can reach over a meter in width and often contain up to 60,000 individuals. Unlike domesticated honeybees, they are not kept in traditional hives due to their aggressive defensive nature.
