- Giant panda snails are hermaphrodites, possessing both male and female reproductive organs, and can exchange sperm with other individuals during mating.
- The giant panda snail can reach up to 9 centimeters in diameter, making it one of the largest terrestrial snails in Australia. Its name is inspired by its banded shell pattern, which is reminiscent of a giant panda's coloration. Unlike many other snails, it has a strong preference for fungi, particularly bracket fungi found on decaying wood.
