- The giant trevally is one of the few fish species that has been seen intentionally hunting and catching birds in mid-air.
- Giant trevallies are known for their ability to leap out of the water to catch birds in flight. They often hunt in groups, herding baitfish into shallow water for more effective predation. Some individuals have been observed working cooperatively with other predators, such as dolphins.
