Rhinopithecus roxellana

Did you know?
- Despite living in freezing mountain environments, these monkeys are one of the few primate species that can endure heavy snowfall and temperatures as low as -8Β°C (17Β°F).
- Golden Snub-nosed Monkeys can form groups of up to 600 individuals, one of the largest aggregations among non-human primates. Their unique blue faces are due to the lack of skin pigments and dense blood vessels under the skin. During winter, their diet shifts to bark, lichens, and pine needles to survive the harsh conditions.
