- Grass carp are one of the largest members of the minnow family (Cyprinidae) and can grow over 1.5 meters (5 feet) long.
- Grass carp can consume up to three times their own body weight in vegetation each day. They have no true stomach, so they must eat almost continuously. Despite their plant-based diet, their eggs and young are highly vulnerable to predation by other fish.
