- Despite their enormous size and heavy-looking bills, Great Hornbills are agile flyers and can glide gracefully between trees in the dense forest canopy.
- Great Hornbills have a unique nesting behavior where the female is sealed inside a tree cavity for months. Their casque, though large and intimidating, is hollow and primarily used for resonating calls and in ritual combat between males.
